Executive Director
Jo Ella has been the Executive Director of the New Mexico MLK, Jr. State Commission for three years. She has extensive knowledge of the MLK, Jr. Commission, its history, its goals, and its purpose.
Jo Ella graduated from the University of Albuquerque, is a native New Mexican, and has spent countless hours working with Hurricane Katrina victims as one of the directors on the PRIZM board. Having attended segregated schools as a child, Jo Ella has devoted her life to promoting and educating the public on the importance of civil rights and equality for all.
Jo Ella spends most of her time traveling throughout the state promoting the MLK, Jr. Commission’s mission and speaking at schools and community centers throughout New Mexico.
